Columbia University Brain Index

The Columbia University Brain Index was the result of an intense collaboration between TAIT, AV&C, Technomedia and Columbia University to create a one-of-a-kind kinetic installation in the lobby of Renzo Piano’s Jerome L. Greene Science Center at Columbia’s Manhattanville campus. A series of seven independently controlled LCD screens are layered on top of a low resolution LED video surface. The Columbia University Brain Index uses TAIT Navigator to send real-time position information to the video system to manipulate the content as the screens move. When the Brain Index senses a lack of interaction, it transitions into show-mode and the screens dance in unison landing on key pieces of video content.
